Four soldiers from the US Army disappeared on Tuesday while conducting military tests in Pabrade, Lithuania, near the border with Belarus.

According to the latest information from the Lithuanian Ministry of Defence and the US Army in Europe and Africa, the soldiers are missing. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated on Wednesday afternoon that they were dead, without giving more details.

The Lithuanian Army stated in a press release that it received the first report around 4:45pm concerning the disappearance of four American soldiers and a vehicle in a training area.

"I have learned that four American soldiers have died during an incident in Lithuania," said Mark Rutte during a seminar at the Warsaw School of Economics, where he also explained that he didn't know the details of these alleged deaths.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of these deaths.
