Since their delivery to Ukraine in April 2023, the 19 French Caesar cannons have already fired nearly 40,000 shells at the "enemy".
Furthermore, France has promised Kyiv to deliver more of them.
With around 1,600 shells per month and more than 50 per day, the order book of the factory responsible for manufacturing the Caesar cannons has been well filled. Located in Bourges, the production site has increased its output, going from two to six cannons per month, according to the media outlet 20 Minutes. By the end of 2025, this volume could double.
The company KNDS, born from the merger of Nexter and the German company KMW, manufactures the Caesar cannons, which are mounted on an eight-axle lorry. These formidable weapons are capable of firing shells at targets 50 kilometres away.
