A 7.1-magnitude earthquake that struck more than 160 km from the capital of Tonga, Nuku’alofa, was reportedly predicted in a Bible verse.
The quake triggered a tsunami warning and came just days after a massive earthquake in Myanmar, Southeast Asia. According to the latest reports, more than 1,600 people have lost their lives, while rescue teams continue searching for survivors trapped in the rubble.
Some believe that this string of earthquakes was foretold in the Bible. The Gospel of Matthew mentions that in the last days, there will be "earthquakes in one place after another." Similarly, the Gospel of Luke states: "There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven."
According to biblical interpretation, these events are seen as part of a period known as “the conclusion of the system of things.”
