A mysterious virus has been spreading across multiple regions in Russia, causing intense fever and severe sneezing, with some cases even leading to coughing up blood.
According to local media outlet RIA Novosti and independent news channel SHOT, the first cases have been detected, though official figures and hospitalization numbers remain unclear.
Just days after the first reports, infected individuals described being completely bedridden due to extreme fever, while others reported coughing up blood as a symptom.
Doctors have observed similar symptoms across multiple patients but have yet to reach a definitive diagnosis.
Some sources have suggested that the outbreak could be linked to Mycoplasma pneumonia, a bacterial infection known to cause respiratory illness.
Pediatrician Dmitry Malykh warned that infants and children with chronic illnesses are particularly vulnerable, and that adults could also face serious complications.
