A new NATO defense initiative has been unveiled aimed at protecting its eastern border with Russia and preventing any major conflict.
The project, dubbed the “Drone Wall” envisions a defensive line stretching from Norway to Poland, made up of advanced drone technology designed to counter unconventional warfare tactics.
This “Drone Wall” would act both as a deterrent to potential adversaries and as a reconnaissance system along the alliance’s eastern frontier.
The initiative highlights a shift in Europe’s defense posture, particularly as the United States' commitment to NATO remains uncertain with Donald Trump’s return to power.
Spearheaded by Germany, the plan is set to become one of the largest surveillance networks ever deployed by NATO.
“By integrating cutting-edge technology, common defense measures, and rapid innovation, we can create an effective multilayered solution that helps ensure Europe's resilience against external threats and aggressors,” said Defence Estonia, a consortium of security firms, in a statement.
