We don't need to convince you of all the health benefits that sport has for children and people of all ages. But did you know that playing sports can actually make you smarter?

If your child plays a team sport, you might be glad to hear that the skills they learn in training can also benefit them at school.

A recent study from the Netherlands found that children who play team sports seem to have better executive functions, including better memory, greater focus, stronger adaptability, and better emotional control.

When playing a team sport, children must consider their teammates, remember strategies, follow instructions, and make quick decisions. It has also been proven that sports help children with social skills and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
