Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky condemned an increase in Russian attacks since 7:00 GMT on Sunday despite the Easter truce announced the previous day by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"There has been an increase in the number of Russian bombings and the use of drones by the occupiers," said Mr. Zelensky in a message on his Telegram account, posted after receiving a report from the head of the Ukrainian army Oleksandr Sirsky at noon local time (9:00 GMT).
The 30-hour Easter truce in Ukraine decreed last Saturday by Russian President Vladimir Putin was marked by mutual accusations of non-compliance: while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denounces dozens of Russian bombings and assaults, Russian emergency services reported this Sunday morning a Ukrainian attack, with no casualties so far, on the city of Donetsk.
