As Donald Trump approaches the 100-day mark of his presidency, a new poll shows his approval rating has plummeted to historic lows.
According to a survey conducted by SSRS for CNN, only 41% of Americans approve of the president’s performance—matching the low ratings once recorded by Dwight Eisenhower.
Only 22% of respondents said they believe Trump is doing a good job, while 45% rated his first 100 days as insufficient.
His approval rating took a major hit in March following the introduction of global tariffs, which severely disrupted financial markets.
After making significant efforts to reshape the federal government, Trump has also lost ground in public confidence regarding his management of government operations—only 42% approve of his handling, a 6-point drop since March. Furthermore, just 46% trust him to appoint the best people to key positions, an 8-point decline since December.
Internationally, the president’s approval is also slipping, with fewer respondents expressing confidence in his global leadership.
