While Russian soldiers are desperately lacking in resources in the air defence sector, a new hybrid weapon has just emerged.
Faced with a shortage of weapons, Putin’s armed forces have shown inventiveness by mounting an AK-630 anti-aircraft cannon on a KamAZ truck, with the aim of creating a new air defence system, according to the media outlet L’Indépendant. This hybrid weapon, which combines land and naval equipment, has been identified near Sevastopol, in Russian-occupied Crimea.
Improvised parts
These chimeric weapons regularly appear on the battlefield. Russian engineers develop 'improvised' systems, including naval A-22 Ogon multiple rocket launchers, installed on MT-LB armoured personnel carriers, and mounted 2M-3 or 2-UK-T cannons, observes the Ukrainian specialised site Defense Express, which however, is unaware how the Russians managed to assemble these parts together.
