Beijing has been accused of "militarizing" the Yellow Sea—a body of water between China and South Korea, a key U.S. ally in Asia—by regularly deploying warships in the area.

The Chinese military appears to be ramping up its presence in the Pacific Ocean, frequently dispatching naval vessels near the territorial waters of South Korea and Japan.

According to South Korean media outlet The Chosun Daily, which cites military data, there are "growing signs" of increased militarization in the Yellow Sea. The Chinese navy reportedly entered waters under South Korean jurisdiction 330 times last year.

The report also notes that Chinese warships have been spotted within South Korea’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), raising concerns in Seoul over China’s increasingly assertive maritime strategy.

Analysts say Beijing’s actions are part of a broader effort to intimidate its regional neighbors, especially as both Japan and South Korea maintain strong military ties with the United States.
