Are we going to see a Belgian dream duo in a team in the top Italian football league? Napoli is said to be interested in Kevin De Bruyne.
Kevin De Bruyne, aged 33, will be leaving Manchester City at the end of this season, a club with which he won 22 trophies and became Premier League champion six times and also won the Champions League. The Belgian midfielder, who has been frequently plagued by injuries in recent seasons, seemed destined for a lucrative transfer to the Middle-East or to a stint in the American MLS.
However, his current form seems to suggest that he is not yet completely out of the picture for top football and might still make a transfer to a major European league. According to Italian media, Napoli has a concrete interest in the Red Devil. An additional advantage for the Partenopei: the presence of Romelu Lukaku, his 31-year-old strike partner from the Belgian national team, in Naples.
In Naples, they are already dreaming of another Belgian in the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, after Dries Mertens previously grew into a fan favourite, legend, and all-time top scorer of the club. According to the sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the arrival of De Bruyne at Napoli would "not just be the cherry on the cake but the cake itself".
