French President Emmanuel Macron announced that 26 countries in the Coalition of the Willing have pledged to deploy troops in Ukraine or to "be present on land, sea, or in the air" to provide security guarantees to Kyiv.

At a press conference following a meeting of Ukraine's 35-nation allies in Paris, attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Emmanuel Macron insisted that the reassurance force's objective was not to engage in a war with Russia, but rather to "guarantee peace and send a very clear signal."

The objective of these forces, which would not be on the front lines, is to "prevent any new major aggression" and involve these 26 countries "in Ukraine's lasting security."

Finnish President Alexander Stubb, for his part, stated in Paris, following his meeting with the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, that Europe and US President Donald Trump agreed to increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate a peace agreement with Ukraine.

"The deadline set by President Trump to Putin expired on Monday, and it is clear that Russia is showing no signs of wanting peace," Stubb told Finnish media.
