US President Donald Trump stated that negotiations with Russia to advance the ceasefire agreement in Ukraine were going well
The two men will speak on the phone on March 18, a fact confirmed by the Trump administration and the Kremlin. According to Reuters, during the negotiations, Trump plans to address territorial issues and the "division of certain assets" between Russia and Ukraine.
"We will talk about land. We will talk about power plants," responded Mr. Trump when asked about "the concessions made by both parties."
The American President expressed his belief that Mr. Putin would accept the agreement. "I think he will accept it. I really do. I think I know him well enough and I think he will agree," he said during an interview broadcast on Full Measure. If he doesn't accept, he added, it would be "bad news for the world, because a lot of people are dying."
