Russian secret document: "Peace cannot happen before 2026"

The American newspaper Washington Post has disclosed the contents of a secret Russian document intercepted by a European intelligence service.

The document was drawn up by a Russian think tank and was intended for the Kremlin. The document lists the demands that Russia would have to make to end the conflict with Ukraine. It also mentions US president Donald Trump's plans to reach a peace agreement within 100 days as "impossible to realise".

"A peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis cannot happen before 2026," the document states. It also discusses the necessity for a "complete dismantling" of the current Ukrainian government.

According to the document, Russia should also try to weaken the negotiating position of the United States by stirring up tensions between the Trump administration and other countries.
