Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of military intervention to take control of Greenland, a stance that has drawn sharp condemnation from European nations.

Late last week, a U.S. delegation led by Vice President JD Vance visited the Arctic territory, stopping at the American military base in Pituffik. During his speech, Vance claimed that Greenland had been neglected by Denmark—an assertion swiftly rejected by local Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

When pressed on the issue during an interview with NBC, the U.S. president stated that “no option is off the table.” He further suggested that military action could be necessary to secure the territory, which he described as a critical strategic asset for peace.

European leaders strongly denounced Trump’s remarks, while Copenhagen reiterated that Greenland is not « for sale ». Meanwhile, Greenlandic officials firmly rejected any possibility of joining the United States.
