Dutch mayor found guilty of masturbating behind the wheel

An unusual story comes to us from Groningen in the Netherlands where former mayor Koen Schuiling was found guilty by the court of masturbating in the car.

He was pulled over by the police in 2024 along the A7 motorway after they received a report about an “old man driving with his trousers down and his hand in his trousers”. It turned out to be the mayor of Groningen. The 66-year-old politician claimed that he was merely "massaging away" stomach pain, but the judge did not believe his story. The former mayor was found guilty of ‘offensive behaviour’ behind the wheel and was fined 250 euros.

The mayor resigned after the facts came to light. At least two other reports were also received by the police concerning the former mayor. The mayor was reportedly caught on another occasion masturbating behind the wheel by another road user. Additionally, there were reportedly several more such 'incidents', as reported by the Dutch press.
