Elon Musk has called the fire that engulfed several Tesla vehicles in Las Vegas an act of "terrorism."
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) reported that the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m., with a suspect allegedly seen setting fire to the electric cars.
"The FBI is on-site assisting the LVMPD. We have no further comment at this time," a spokesperson for the federal agency told FOX5.
According to Newsweek, the word "resist" was spray-painted on the front of the Tesla Collision Center, where the burned vehicles were parked.
Following the incident, the Tesla CEO responded with a sharp message.
"Terrorism. The left is the party of violence and hate," Musk wrote.
"This level of violence is insane and deeply unjust. Tesla simply makes electric cars and has done nothing to deserve these malicious attacks," he added in another post.
