On Easter Saturday, a 51-year-old construction entrepreneur lost his life in a crash involving his brand-new Lamborghini in Italy.

The owner of a construction company in Concordia Sagittaria (province of Venice) had just purchased the sports car and wanted to test it out with a friend. He had saved for years to buy the expensive vehicle, but things went terribly wrong on the very first trip. In a bend on a rural road, he lost control of the sports car, veered off the road, and flipped over. The Lamborghini ended up upside down in a ditch alongside the road and immediately filled with water.

The 51-year-old driver was trapped in the car, which began to fill with water immediately. He couldn't free himself and died on the spot. The passenger was able to escape from the vehicle under his own power but sustained serious injuries. The Italian newspaper La Stampa highlights that excessive speed was the underlying cause of the fatal road accident.

The entrepreneur is survived by a wife and daughter.
