Spaniard Marc Márquez won the Czech Republic Grand Prix in the MotoGP class at Brno last weekend. In doing so, the 32-year-old Ducati Lenovo rider made history for his team as no Ducati rider has ever won five GPs in a row. It was also his fourth win at the Czech Republic GP and immediately his eighth win of the season out of 12 GPs. Márquez thus continued the dominance he has been showing all season in Brno, while his Italian teammate Bagnaia continues to face difficulties.
In the Italian camp, meanwhile, unrest is growing. Francesco Bagnaia may have started from pole, but did not find his top form in Brno either, finishing fourth. Marco Bezzecchi did finish second. Spaniard Pedro Acosta of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing took third place after already finishing second behind Marc Márquez in the sprint race, earning his first podium of the season. Alex Márquez crashed out as early as the third lap, losing touch with his brother in the World Cup standings. Thanks to his win, Marc Márquez strengthened his lead in the World Cup standings. The Spaniard is 120 points ahead of his brother Alex. Bagnaia follows on 168 points from the leader and reacted disappointed after the race. Nearly 220,000 spectators descended on the Masaryk Circuit last weekend.
