President Macron is ready to discuss the deployment of French nuclear armament in Europe.
The French government is prepared to enter discussions about positioning French aircraft armed with nuclear bombs in other European countries, similar to what the United States does with its nuclear umbrella.
President Macron also noted that this debate does not change France's doctrine on the use of nuclear weapons, a doctrine that has been in place since the tenure of General de Gaulle.
"We do not go into details because ambiguity is inherent to deterrence," concluded Mr. Macron.
For its part, the Kremlin responded to Macron's willingness to extend the practice of nuclear proliferation in Europe by addressing the French President. "The proliferation of nuclear weapons on the European continent is something that will add neither to the security nor the stability of the continent," stated the Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitri Peskov.
