"Gérard is abandoning us": The actor’s ex vents her anger

Her name is Helen Bizot, and she has just given an exclusive interview to the French magazine Voici.

As Gérard Depardieu has been handed an 18-month suspended prison sentence for sexual assaults, his ex-partner, Helen Bizot, who is raising their son alone, has decided to speak out.

In Voici, the Franco-Cambodian woman discusses her relationship with the actor and the father of her son, Jean Depardieu. She shares her anger and despair: "This is a mother’s cry. My son’s name is Jean Depardieu (named in tribute to Jean Carmet), he is about to turn 19, and he is the son of Gérard Depardieu who, today, is abandoning us."

“He’s throwing us out”

Helen Bizot explains that she has, in fact, been abandoned by the French actor. "We had the use of a flat in Paris since 2012, and now Gérard is throwing us out," she declares. "Last September, his entourage informed me that he was cancelling the child support and wanted to sell the flat."

Despite many pleas to this giant of French cinema, Bizot points out that nothing has made him change his mind. “I begged him not to put me out on the street in front of our son and to give me time to find a solution." "A few months later, he sent me the list of charges for our home (which amount to €7,400 a year)." She adds: "He's well aware that I have had no income for over six months and that I am already taking care of our son single-handedly..."
