Has French influencer found killer of 4 children and wife?

The French online blogger Aqababe claims to have found the hideout of Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès, one of the most wanted criminals in France.

Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès is wanted on suspicion of murdering his wife and their four children in Nantes. This man has been missing since 2011. The French influencer Aqababe started his own investigation and mobilised his entire online following to track down the wanted killer. Successfully, it seems! At least that's what he claims. However, the prosecutor in Nantes denies the breakthrough.

According to a press release published by the blogger on Sunday, more than 370,000 people have joined a special online channel he had set up and thousands of internet users have sent testimonies to a special email address. And that is said to have led the French influencer to know where the wanted killer is currently hiding. But the prosecutor in Nantes still disputes this.

"Since April 18, 2025, various reports have circulated in the media and on social media that Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès has been located," he says in a statement. "Contrary to what has been indicated this time, to date there has not been a single factual or verifiable element brought to the attention of the Nantes court, nor of the police services in charge of the case, that could confirm the truthfulness of this information," responds prosecutor Antoine Leroy to BFMTV.
