The bunker that was used during the Second World War has been for sale on the Leboncoin website since mid-March, in Tourcoing (France).
The price for this 400m2 German military bunker? €266,000. According to the description, the building served as a "listening centre for the 15th German army" during the war. The blockhouse is located on a 592m2 plot, "opposite the former German headquarters, which has now become the Musée du 5 juin 1944 Message Verlaine".
An art gallery that proved too expensive
In 2018, the owner, Sylvie, acquired the bunker with the aim of transforming it into an "out-of-the-ordinary art gallery", she explained to local television. The cost of the work being too high, Sylvie was unfortunately unable to carry out her project.
In her advertisement, the owner even suggests ideas for transforming and redeveloping the place for those who are interested. Cultural space, museum, "resilience bunker or secure data centre" or even "secure security and storage centre"... Sylvie isn't short of ideas (for others).
A deal in the making soon?
