India warns Pakistan: 'If any attacks are carried out, they will be met with a firm response'
Tensions between India and Pakistan have risen significantly in recent days, following the latest clashes over the Kashmir territorial conflict.
The Pakistani army declared it had shot down 12 drones over its territory on Thursday. The Indian armed forces also attacked radar and air defence systems in several locations across Pakistan.
The Indian Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, made statements during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi, in New Delhi.
In the event of military strikes against India, "there should be no doubt that they will be met very, very firmly", stated the Prime Minister, amidst the diplomatic crisis between India and Pakistan.
"We have no intention of escalating the situation," said Mr. Jaishankar, but he warned that India would not stand idly by.
