Iran has targeted the Al Udeid Air Base, located south of Doha, the capital of Qatar, in retaliation for recent U.S. airstrikes that damaged several nuclear-related facilities within Iranian territory.

According to Tehran, the response was proportionate to the American attack, and Iranian officials warned that further actions against the United States could follow. However, Iran stated that it had informed U.S. diplomatic channels in advance, allowing American personnel to evacuate and preventing any loss of life.

In response to the growing instability in the region, several countries—including Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar—have temporarily closed their airspace.

The United States described Iran’s retaliation as “symbolic,” with the Pentagon confirming that all missiles targeting the Qatari base were successfully intercepted.

Meanwhile, Iran received backing from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, according to the TASS news agency, condemned the U.S. strikes as an “unprovoked act of aggression.”
