Iran has unveiled a new type of ballistic missile reportedly capable of striking American military bases across the Middle East, as tensions between Tehran and Washington remain high amid stalled nuclear deal talks.
Footage of the new weapon was broadcast on Iranian state television, showcasing the missile as a symbol of growing military capability.
Speaking during the televised broadcast, Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh issued a stern warning: "If war is initiated by the U.S. or Israel, Iran will strike their interests, bases, and forces wherever they are and whenever necessary."
The new missile, named Qassem Basir, was reportedly tested earlier this month, according to local media sources.
Minister Nasirzadeh highlighted the missile’s improved features, including enhanced maneuverability and an advanced guidance system designed to help it evade air defense systems more effectively.
