Iran is currently importing tons of missile fuel from China as it seeks to strengthen its defense capabilities amid rising regional and international tensions.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Tehran has secured a shipment of ammonium perchlorate, a chemical compound commonly used as a solid fuel oxidizer in ballistic missiles.

The delivery underscores Iran’s determination to bolster its military power in the face of growing instability. At the same time, the deal highlights deepening ties between Iran and China.

This development comes as diplomatic tensions between Tehran and Washington remain high, particularly over disagreements surrounding a potential new nuclear deal.

The United States continues to demand that Iran end its nuclear program, while Iran insists the program is for civilian purposes only and is calling for the lifting of economic sanctions.

The shipment from China reportedly includes thousands of tons of ammonium perchlorate, enough to produce up to 800 solid-fuel ballistic missiles, significantly enhancing Iran’s missile arsenal.
