On Sunday, Iran's nuclear programme was targeted by new Israeli strikes. Tehran's response was immediate: missile attacks killed at least eight people in Tel Aviv.

The military escalation between the two countries is unprecedented. And in this climate of deep tensions, the American president has indicated that he would respond with "full force" if Iran also attacked the United States. "If we are attacked in any way by Iran, the full force and might of the American armed forces will be brought to bear on you at levels never before seen," Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Sunday. He added: "We can easily reach an agreement between Iran and Israel and end this bloody conflict!"

On Friday, the White House president had already urged Tehran to reach an agreement if it did not want to suffer "even more brutal" attacks from Tel Aviv.

Update on the Current Situation

According to the latest information from the Wall Street Journal, the US President has reportedly informed his senior advisers that he has approved certain attack plans against Iran, but has not yet ordered their implementation. This is to determine whether Tehran will ultimately abandon its nuclear programme (the main point of contention with Washington).
