Iran’s top military official has announced a significant reinforcement of the country’s defense capabilities in preparation for a potential attack from the United States.

The development comes as nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington continue to stall. Despite multiple rounds of talks, no tangible progress has been made. Key disagreements persist over uranium enrichment and the ultimate purpose of Iran’s nuclear program.

While the U.S. has recently urged Iran to completely dismantle its nuclear efforts, Tehran maintains that its nuclear ambitions are strictly for civilian purposes.

During a defense meeting focused on air security, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Iran’s Chief of Staff for the Armed Forces, revealed that the number of radars, surveillance systems, and detection equipment has been increased fivefold, according to Tasnim News Agency.

Baqueri, quoted by IRNA News Agency last week, warned: "In case the enemies make a mistake or intend to take action against the establishment and the sacred waters and soil of the Islamic Republic of Iran, our armed forces have the ability and readiness to confront them."

Meanwhile, the United States has deployed another F-15 fighter jet to the Diego Garcia military base in the Indian Ocean, a location within striking distance of Iran—further escalating tensions between the two nations.
