After previously indicating that he would withdraw from peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, the US President now appears to be re-engaging to bring the Russian invasion of Ukraine to an end. Donald Trump is reportedly willing to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky. At least, that's what the Russian news agency Tass reports.

"I'll do that, if necessary," said Trump when asked to respond to the possibility of attending the meeting. "At the moment we are working together with President Putin and we'll see where we stand. I think it's going well, but we'll see."

Furthermore, Trump is said to have imposed a two-week deadline on Putin, with the warning that a different response will follow if the Russian leader is still stringing him along by then. While the Kremlin stepped up its attacks on Ukraine, Trump was asked in the Oval Office on Wednesday whether he thought Putin wanted to end the war. "I can't tell you that now, but I'll let you know in about two weeks," Trump told the reporters present.
