Lewis Hamilton didn’t hide his disappointment after finishing 12th at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday, openly questioning his future in Formula 1 with Ferrari.

The weekend was a difficult one for the seven-time world champion, who struggled with Ferrari’s performance, failing to make it past Q2 in qualifying and enduring a tough race on Sunday.

With drivers now on summer break ahead of the next race in the Netherlands at the end of the month, Hamilton admitted he's unsure about what lies ahead with the Italian team, though he’s already looking forward to returning.

I look forward to coming back… Hopefully I will be back, yeah,” he said after the race.

Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur acknowledged that his driver was disheartened by the weekend’s challenges: “I don’t need to motivate him, honestly. He’s frustrated, but not demotivated. I can perfectly understand the situation. He’s demanding. But that’s why he’s a seven-time world champion. He’s demanding with the team, with the car, with the engineers, with the mechanics, with myself, but first and foremost, he’s very demanding with himself. I can understand the frustration from Lewis. This is normal. He will come back.
