Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys stated that after last week's deadly attack on Sumy, Russia has "something even worse" in store for Easter Sunday.
"I have no doubt about it," he said. "I don't doubt that they will prepare something even worse for Easter. Maybe it will be the turning point and we will say, 'well, we need to strengthen sanctions,'" said Mr Budrys in an interview with ELTA.
He believes that the Sumy attacks, which cost the lives of about forty civilians, could serve as a "stimulus" to accelerate certain processes related to Ukraine, such as its admission to the European Union.
The intensity of the fighting is increasing in northeastern Ukraine, where Russia has started its offensive against the provinces of Sumy and Kharkov, although experts believe it's unlikely the Russian army can quickly advance towards the regional capital.
