In Belgium and the Netherlands, certain packets of Haribo sweets might have an unexpected effect. Indeed, traces of cannabis have been detected in some batches. A recall campaign has been launched.

Eating Haribo cola bottle sweets might not just put you at risk of tooth decay. Consumers eating these sweets could find themselves feeling a little too relaxed. This is because traces of cannabis were found in the batch. First discovered in the Netherlands by police after complaints from consumers, Indian hemp has also been found in packets of Haribo cola bottle sweets in Belgium.

Strange

The brand is asking customers to return these 1kg Happy Cola F!ZZ packets with production numbers L341-4002307906, with a best-before date of January 2026. This recall should be taken seriously. In fact, several people, including children, who ate these cannabis-laced sweets have fallen ill in the Netherlands. Some even contacted the police to help solve the mystery. Yet investigators are still in the dark about the origin of the cannabis…
