The Ukrainian cities of Kyiv and Odesa were subjected to "massive attacks" by Russian drones early on Tuesday morning, leaving one person dead in the southern port, according to local authorities.

Russia launched 315 drones, including 250 Shahed kamikaze drones, and seven missiles at Ukraine, revealed President Volodymir Zelensky, specifying that the cities of Kyiv and Odesa were among the main targets of the bombardment.

"Russia lies every day about its desire for peace and attacks people every day. It is time to impose sanctions. It is time to support Ukraine with weapons. It's time to show that democracy has strength," declared Andrii Yermak, chief of staff to President Volodymyr Zelensky, on Telegram after the bombardment.

In Odesa, attacks on residential buildings killed a 59-year-old man, stated Governor Oleg Kiper. "The enemy launched a massive drone attack on Odesa. Civilian infrastructure has been damaged and there are fires. The Russians have struck a maternity hospital, an emergency medical centre and residential buildings," Mr Kiper added.
