Elon Musk continues to invest heavily in the Republican Party, even after his conflict with Donald Trump.

In June 2025, Musk contributed $15 million (approximately €13 million) to several Republican super PACs (political action committees). These contributions came just after a highly publicized feud with Donald Trump over the Republican budget bill, which Musk criticized for its negative impact on the public deficit.

Despite these tensions and his departure from the government, where he led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk remained the largest individual donor to super PACs supporting Republicans in the 2026 midterm election campaign.

The Musk-Trump split was particularly violent: exchanges of insults and accusations, particularly around the Epstein affair, threats from Trump to cancel Musk's federal contracts, and even a period where Musk publicly regretted some of his comments against Trump on social media.

Musk has also invested more than $45 million (approx. €39 million) in his own political organization, America PAC, in the first half of 2025, and has also hinted that he might launch an alternative party, the "America Party," to oppose Trump's grand fiscal compromise.
