North Korea appears to have righted the Choe Hyun-class destroyer after a failed launch last month.

The incident unfolded in front of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who reportedly called for the arrest of those responsible, saying the fiasco had "tarnished the dignity of the country."

According to commercial satellite images dated Monday, the next-generation warship has been brought upright for the first time since the accident on May 21. Several military officers were arrested in the aftermath, with Kim demanding swift repairs.

Commercial satellite imagery shows workers at the port in Chongjin have taken a significant step towards that goal,” reported 38 North, a U.S.-based outlet focused on North Korea.

The outlet added that the warship now needs to be moved from the shipyard to a dry dock for full repairs.

Kim Jong-un has prioritized modernizing North Korea’s aging naval fleet as part of his effort to boost military power and enhance deterrence capabilities.
