Kim Jong-un calls US weapons ‘tacky’ and ‘defective’ before issuing stark warning

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un mocked American military equipment as “tacky” and “defective” while praising his soldiers who are fighting alongside Russian forces.

His remarks came during the Victory Day parade on May 9 in Moscow, attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and a number of allied leaders. The event commemorates the Allied victory in World War II.

Moscow announced plans to erect a monument in the Kursk region to honor North Korean soldiers.

In his speech, Kim paid tribute to the “heroes” of North Korea who are fighting “shoulder to shoulder” with Russian troops in Kursk, where parts of the region remain contested by Ukrainian forces.

North Korea has reportedly provided Moscow with a contingent of 11,000 troops, as well as large quantities of ammunition and artillery shells.

“If the henchmen of the United States and the West, with their tacky, defective munitions, attempt another assault on Russia, I will unhesitatingly issue an order for the DPRK armed forces to repel the enemy’s invasion,” Kim said, according to North Korean state media outlet KCNA.
