During a military exercise by the Third Battalion Parachutists of the Belgian army in Scotland, three Belgian soldiers were injured. Two of them are in serious condition.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon during an exercise with live ammunition. A practice rocket from a portable anti-tank weapon did not launch as planned. Three soldiers were injured. Two of them were seriously wounded but were never in life-threatening danger. They were taken to the emergency department of a Scottish hospital. Ten other military personnel near the incident suffered hearing damage.
An investigation now needs to determine whether it was a technical or human error.
