Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced that preparations are underway to ensure that every adult male in Poland receives military training in case of a potential conflict.

Speaking before the local parliament, Tusk said that the government will provide full details of the plan in the coming months.

"We will try to have a model ready by the end of this year so that every adult male in Poland is trained in the event of war, so that this reserve is comparable and adequate to the potential threats," he said.

The Polish leader emphasized his goal to expand the size of the army and its reserve forces, aiming to increase military personnel from 200,000 to 500,000 troops in the future.

"We're talking about the need to have an army of half a million in Poland, including the reservists," Tusk explained.

"It seems if we organize things wisely, and I'm constantly discussing this with the Minister of Defense, we will need to take multiple approaches. This means not only reservists but also intensive training to ensure that those who do not enter the army can still become fully competent soldiers in the event of a conflict," he added.
