According to the European Union's head of diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, although Russia represents a ‘threat’ to world security, it has ‘no chance’ if all Nato member countries stick together.

Speaking from the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday, Kaja Kallas said: "During the Cold War, the United States and its allies greatly outstripped the Soviet Union [...] Today, faced with NATO and the EU, Russia does not stand a chance. But we must remain united. 32 countries are members of NATO, and 23 of them are also members of the European Union (EU).

For the EU's head of diplomacy, it's vital that all Nato members unite to show that they are on the same wavelength. "Russia is already a direct threat to the European Union," she said. "Those of us who share a border with Russia have always felt its provocations more keenly. Those of us who suffered under Soviet imperialism feel it the most," said the woman who was Prime Minister of Estonia, Russia's neighbouring state, from 2021 to 2023. "But Russia's threat to transatlantic security is a problem for all of us," she repeated.
