After a day of reflection during which Moscow chose to remain silent on the American ceasefire proposal, Russia presented its conditions to Washington on Thursday to end the war between Moscow and Kiev.

According to international news agencies such as Reuters, the exact content of the list is unknown, but cited sources indicate that the document is similar to those presented in other negotiation rounds, such as the prohibition for Ukraine to join NATO, the recognition of Crimea and annexed regions (Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia, which according to the international community are part of Kiev's territory) as part of Russia, and the restriction of foreign troop presence on Ukrainian soil.

Vladimir Putin also spoke for the first time: "I want to thank Donald Trump, his action is noble, we support the truce, but there are issues," before concluding, "Russia is for a truce if it leads to a lasting peace".
