According to some media, Vladimir Putin has sent a message to Donald Trump regarding his ceasefire proposal in Ukraine. The message was sent through Trump's special envoy, likely to be Steve Witkoff.
As noted by Reuters, citing a statement from the Russian side, the Kremlin believes there are "reasons for cautious optimism" about reaching an agreement.
Furthermore, according to the journalists, Mr. Trump has again demanded that Russia sign and finalise "a ceasefire and a final agreement", stating he would extract the United States from what he called "a real mess with Russia".
