Just over a year ago, the plans for a vast tunnel complex and an ultra-secure bunker were revealed. Located nearly 50 metres underground, beneath Putin's lavish palace, this "refuge" is intended to protect the Russian president in the event of a foreign attack or even a revolution in his own country.
Beneath his palace on the Black Sea coast, the Russian president had a major network of tunnels built to offer shelter in the event of an uprising. And this is not the only place where the Kremlin chief can find refuge if needed. In fact, Vladimir Putin also has several secret bunkers throughout the country, according to Belgian media outlet 7sur7.
Locations now known
While, until now, the location of the bunkers had been kept top secret, Kyiv now claims to know their exact whereabouts. Andriy Yusov, spokesman for Ukrainian military intelligence, said during a press interview that the locations of Putin's hideouts are well known. “This information is known and constantly updated,” Yusov said.
Like Dracula
According to him, the Kremlin chief likes these bunkers, “he hides like Dracula in his crypts”. He made this assertion without, however, revealing where they are located or how many there are.
Now that Kyiv has uncovered the secret, do these hideouts still offer Putin protection? Where will he be able to hide if his life is threatened? Perhaps on the moon… Who knows.
