"Russia prepares major offensive in Ukraine" (Financial Times)

According to the British newspaper Financial Times, Russia is preparing a new, major offensive in Ukraine. And yet, talks about a ceasefire are said to be planned simultaneously.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expects his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Istanbul, Turkey, on Thursday to discuss a ceasefire in the conflict between the two countries.

However, according to the Financial Times, Russia is preparing a major offensive, as reported by the British financial newspaper from Ukrainian intelligence officials. They state that Russian troops are moving to key positions along the frontline, which stretches over more than 600 miles.

According to Ukrainian sources, Russia wants to seize as much territory as possible to strengthen its position at the negotiating table. However, it remains uncertain when the Russians will be willing to negotiate peace.
