Russia has begun large-scale naval exercises involving four of its major fleets in a show of maritime force stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Baltic and Caspian Seas.

The July Storm exercise, which will take place from July 23 to 27, will test the fleet's readiness for non-standard operations, the use of long-range weapons, and other advanced technologies, including unmanned systems, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

More than 150 warships and support vessels, 120 aircraft, 10 coastal defense missile systems, approximately 950 pieces of military equipment, and more than 15,000 personnel are involved in the exercise.

According to the official statement, the exercise will also include individual and coordinated strikes against simulated enemy targets and naval groups using long-range precision-guided weapons.

Russia has the third-most powerful navy in the world after China and the United States, according to most rankings, despite suffering a series of losses in the war in Ukraine.
