A DDoS attack by a Russian hacker collective brought down several Belgian government websites on Monday.

MyGov.be, where citizens can find official documents, was among the attacked websites, as well as those of the Walloon Parliament, the Parliament of the French Community, and certain Brussels government websites. Some of these websites remained offline for a while.

The DDoS attack, where a website is flooded with a large number of requests and thus becomes overloaded and inaccessible, was claimed by the pro-Russian hacker collective NoName057. On their Telegram channel, the collective reported that the attack was a response to a € 1 billion support package Belgium offered to Ukraine.
