On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky demanded a strong worldwide response to the Russian ballistic missile attack on the city of Sumy, in the northeast of the country, which resulted in more than 20 deaths.
"Terrible Russian ballistic missile attack in Sumy. The enemy missiles hit a normal street in the city, a normal life: houses, schools, cars on the street... And this, on a day when people go to church: Palm Sunday (...)," wrote Mr Zelensky on his Telegram account.
He stressed that "dozens of civilians were killed and injured" in the Russian attack.
"We need a strong response from the world. America, Europe, all those who want this war and these massacres to end. Russia wants exactly this kind of terror and is dragging the war on," he emphasised.
Mr Zelensky insisted that without pressure on Russia, peace is impossible.
"Talks have never stopped ballistic missiles and bombs. We must treat Russia as a deserving terrorist," concluded the Ukrainian president.
