There are no trains running to and from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, in the Netherlands . According to Dutch Minister of Justice and Security David van Weel, this could be an act of ‘sabotage’ at the start of the NATO summit in The Hague.

"Sabotage is one of the things we are currently investigating," Minister Van Weel told Dutch public broadcaster NOS. "It could be an activist group. It could be another state. It could be anything."

Trains will not run to and from Schiphol Airport from Utrecht and Amsterdam until at least 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The cause is a power outage caused by a fire in cables next to the tracks. The fire broke out in the night from Monday to Tuesday around 3:45 a.m. Because the disruption is so extensive, no replacement buses will be provided.

On Tuesday, 45 heads of state and government leaders will arrive in The Hague for a two-day NATO summit. The largest security operation in Dutch history has been set up to ensure their safety. According to Minister Van Weel, the location in The Hague where the NATO summit is being held may well be "the safest place on earth" today.
