Last week, Scarlett Johansson became the most profitable female and male actress in Hollywood history. This record is mainly due to her presence in films from the Marvel franchise.

She has just overtaken Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr., all thanks to ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’. According to data from The Numbers, the first figures give Scarlett Johansson a total of 14.8 billion dollars (approx. 12 billion euros) in takings over the course of her career, in films in which she plays a lead role or an ensemble lead role.

More than $8.7 billion (approx. €7.5 billion) of this total came from the four Avengers films and Captain America: Civil War, in which she plays Natasha Romanov, aka Black Widow.

While many stars have crossed the $14 billion threshold, none of the most lucrative stars has yet reached the $15 billion (€12.8 billion) mark. With a billion dollars in takings for ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ still a possibility, it is now certain that Johansson will pass this milestone in the coming weeks.

She will thus become the first star to reach this historic milestone.
