The actress is one of the most critical voices regarding Artificial Intelligence in cinema.

In 2024, OpenAI, responsible for ChatGPT, offered her to be the voice of the software, but the actress refused. ChatGPT had used a voice too similar to Scarlett Johansson's, and eventually the voice was withdrawn.

Following this episode, Scarlett Johansson has become one of the most outspoken critics of AI management. While she's not opposed to the advancement of the software, in an interview with Vanity Fair, she called for more control and greater rigour.

"We must agree on boundaries so that AI doesn't become harmful. I wish more public figures would support this idea and speak up about it. I don't know why that's not the case," she said.

The actress also criticised the influence of big tech companies and their links to the film industry and lamented the emerging scenario: "I suppose they're silencing us".
